What is a speech therapist doing testing recipes and developing menus for the
meal preparation business? That's easy...it's lots of fun.
After nearly twenty years working for the Jefferson County Schools as a
Speech/Language Specialist, Holly Tempel decided to pursue her passion for art
and creativity. In 1998 she made the leap from career to...well, the unknown,
and started culinary school at the Art Institute of Colorado. The rest is
history!
During culinary school, she and a couple other students began catering in-home
dinner parties. That lead to Cachet Catering, a small catering business that
she ran until 2004. She developed menus, prepared and served food and handled
the development and management of the business. She catered events for the
Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the Colorado Private School Association,
the Morrison Museum of Natural History, as well as many private parties.
"The meal preparation concept is THE FUTURE, an area where I want to apply my
skills and talents and continue to grow in the food business." - Holly Tempel
